An Award-Winning Place to Work

For 2008 and 2009, MDS Nordion was selected by Mediacorp Canada Inc., one of Canada's largest career newspapers, as one of the country's Best Employers for New Canadians. The award recognizes leadership in creating workplaces that welcome new Canadians, and that allow them to make the most of their skills, education and talent.

In 2009 and for the third year in a row, MDS Nordion was named one of the top 25 employers in Canada's National Capital Region (Ottawa, Ontario, and the surrounding area). We were recognized for the support we provide for retirement, our tuition subsidies for employees, and our generous post-secondary scholarship program for the children of employees.

Building Community and Improving Lives

At MDS Nordion, we value the health and well-being of people. We believe that it's our business – and our responsibility – to make the world a better place for everyone.

As a community partner, MDS Nordion supports a variety of activities that reflect the MDS Core Values of Commitment to Excellence, Trust, Respect and Integrity. Through community commitment, employee involvement, and sponsorships, we make a difference in the lives of people and families.

A great example of MDS Nordion's community involvement is the MDS Nordion sponsored two-kilometre, five-kilometre and 10-kilometre events, part of the annual Ottawa Race Weekend held each May. As part of Race Weekend, MDS Nordion and its employees proudly support the Ottawa Hospital's Run for a Reason campaign. Our Give a Day to the Community Program provides employees with the opportunity to take one paid day per year to perform community service. Many more examples of MDS Nordion's community involvement can be found at www.mdsnordion.com/community.
